Nine days of treacherous winds took us across The vicious seas , and wild immeasurable waves As large as Olympus nearly wrecked our ship . Forced to beach on the grainy sand ahead , We noted the jagged mountains dominating The horizon . Purplish trees swayed Against the dark orange-streaked sky As the ferocious winds blew across The dim shimmering island . The clamorous sound Of hazel-spotted horses stampeding along The spacious fields echoed throughout the island . Then a memory hit me . I thought of the wheeling Of my ploy as we quietly entered the nearly Impenetrable gates of Troy . My heart had pumped With adrenaline and excitement , yet only silence Remained inside that cramped space while we waited .
As we set foot now on the sopping , grayish shore , The sand engulfed my feet and those of my crew , Bringing us down to the ground forcefully . But we rose and forged into the forest , Sticks snapping as we marched through the trees . Deeper and deeper we pushed into the unknown ,
