have the equipment required to study these samples and decisively prove that microbial life once lived on Mars , as it is far too big and complicated to be brought to the Red Planet . Therefore , NASA is partnering with the European Space Agency to send a rocket to Mars to pick up Perseverance ’ s samples and fly them back to Earth . This is called the Mars Sample Return Mission . The mission would not only be groundbreaking for astrobiologists , but the entire scientific community as well . No rocket has ever returned to Earth from another planet . The search for life on Mars has never looked more promising , and with the Mars Sample Return Mission just on the horizon , it seems like it won ’ t be long before we finally have conclusive evidence that life once existed on Mars .

Titan , Europa , TRAPPIST-1 , and Mars are all locations that could harbor , or could have once harbored , life in our universe . Although scientists have not yet found life outside of Earth , there could be millions , if not billions , of celestial objects that support it . As my partner and I work to expand the T . A . Space Agency , we will continue to investigate the possibility of life outside of our home planet . The answer to the question of how and where scientists are searching for life in our universe is simple . We are searching for life everywhere . From our closest neighbors to exoplanets too far to travel to in a lifetime , astrobiologists are searching every corner of the universe for any sort of life . ( By now , the Milky Way should be shown .) With the new James Webb telescope , we are now able to see farther than ever before . This , combined with the upcoming missions to Titan , Europa , and Mars , means that the future for astrobiologists has never been brighter , and soon , we may finally conclude the elusive search for life .
