DAY 1 • Depart U. S. Depart the U. S. today on your flight to Aberdeen, Scotland.
DAY 2 • Aberdeen, Scotland Arrive in Scotland today and transfer to your hotel. After checking in, meet your fellow travelers who joined our Great Britain: From York to Edinburgh pre-trip extension, then join your Trip Experience Leader for an orientation walk.

DAY 3 • Aberdeen • Embark ship Set off on a tour of Aberdeen with a local guide. Known as“ the Granite City” for its primary building material, Aberdeen is characterized by its silvery-gray architecture. DAY 5 • Sumburgh Head • Shetland pony visit We’ ll explore Shetland Islands and we’ ll visit Sumburgh Head, a towering cliff on the island’ s southern tip where seals frolic and various sea birds whirl overhead. Later, we’ ll meet the iconic Shetland pony. Meals: B, L, D | M / V Corinthian
DAY 6 • Controversial Topic: Justice and the prison system in Norway • Bergen, Norway • Funicular ride up Mount Floyen This morning, a local speaker will talk about a Controversial Topic: divided attitudes toward Norway’ s restorative justice system in the wake of the terrorist attacks in Oslo on July 22, 2011. Then, explore Bergen on a guided tour. We’ ll explore Bryggen( wharf), a picturesque area by the water famous for its brightly-colored wooden houses, and visit bustling Torget Fish Market. Later, we’ ll ride the scenic Floibanen funicular to the top of Mount Floyen where we’ ll get a bird’ s eye view of Bergen and the fjords beyond. After dinner, enjoy live entertainment onboard. DAY 8 • Alesund • Geirangerfjord • Geiranger This morning, arrive in Alesund. Later, we’ ll take a smaller ship and sail into the jewel of Norway’ s fjords— the Geirangerfjorden— a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Then, disembark to explore the small village of Geiranger where we’ ll visit the Norwegian Fjord Centre.
