DAY 11 • Pozzallo • Optional Baroque Heritage of Sicily tour Today is free to spend exploring Pozzallo at your leisure. Or, join a full-day optional tour, the Baroque Heritage of Sicily. The day begins with a visit to the Ragusa Ibla( Ancient Ragusa), where we’ ll tour the Church of Saint George. Then, explore the city of Modica, where we’ ll sample local chocolates. DAY 12 • Explore Siracusa Discover Siracusa today with a local guide. We’ ll set off on a discovery walk of Ortigia, a small island packed with history. DAY 13 • Mount Etna hike Visit magnificent Mount Etna, Europe’ s largest active volcano. We’ ll hike up to view the Sartorius Craters— a vantage point that offers views of the sea, pine woods, and ancient craters in the valley below. DAY 14 • Disembark ship • Taormina • Aci Castello Bid our ship arrivederci today, then drive to explore hillside Taormina. Visit its famous amphitheater and take in the commanding view. Moving on, we’ ll explore Taormina’ s more contemporary delights: winding streets lined by pastel-hued buildings, many accented by wrought-iron balconies. DAY 15 • Catania • World War II Museum This morning, visit Catania’ s World War II Museum. Then, set off to explore Sicily’ s second-largest city with a local guide. A UNESCO-protected landmark, Catania features a rich blend of Norman and Baroque architecture. Our Trip Experience Leader will also guide us on a tour of one of Catania’ s bustling outdoor markets.
