DAY 11 • Sognefjord • Explore Vik with Hopperstad Stave Church
Cruise along Sognefjord , Norway ’ s deepest and longest fjord , then disembark at the Viking town of Vik . Our walking tour of this charming fjord village will include a visit to Hopperstad Stave Church . Built around 1130 AD , this is one of the oldest stave churches in Norway . We ’ ll also learn about and have a tasting of Gamelost , a pungent , golden-brown cheese made from skimmed cow ’ s milk that dates back to Viking times and is only produced here .

DAY 12 • Bergen • Controversial Topic : Norway ’ s prison system • Edvard Grieg Museum • Home- Hosted Lunch
This morning , we ’ ll learn about the Controversial Topic of Norway ’ s prison system with a local expert . Then , visit the Edvard Grieg Museum . Norway ’ s most famous classical composer , Edvard Grieg was born in Bergen and lived in this charming villa from 1885 until his death in 1907 . Following our tour of the house and grounds , we ’ ll enjoy a private musical performance
before driving to the homes of some local families for a Home-Hosted Lunch .
