DAY 10 • Coastal cruising Arrive at our first port , Alesund . Depending on the time of year , embark on one of three different experiences : a cruise around Alesund during the spring , sail through Geirangerfjorden in the summer , or a cruise through Hjorundfjord in the fall . All departures visit Molde , known locally as the “ City of Roses .”

DAY 11 • Trondheim Enjoy an included tour in medieval Trondheim , founded in AD 997 .

DAY 12 • Coastal cruising • Bodo • Svolvaer Today we ’ ll dock in Bodo , the capital of Nordland County . We ’ ll take a discovery walk of Bodo before continuing on to Svolvaer , the capital of Lofoten , a colorful port town framed by towering mountains .

DAY 13 • Coastal cruising • Tromso Today we ’ ll visit Tromso , a university town spanning three fjord-wrapped islands and the starting point for expeditions by famous Arctic explorers , including Norway ’ s own Roald Amundsen , who in the 1900s became the first person to reach both the North and South poles .

DAY 14 • The North Cape Today , we will strike out in pursuit of Europe ’ s northernmost point : the North Cape . Far above the Arctic Circle , where the freezing waters of the Atlantic and Arctic oceans meet , the Cape rises a sheer 1,000 feet above sea level . Tonight , enjoy our last dinner together onboard our ship .

DAY 15 • Disembark ship • Kirkenes • Inari / Ivalo , Finland We disembark in Kirkenes , a northern Norwegian port . During Kirkenes ’ s occupation in World War II , the Germans created shelters from old iron caves to protect its troops from attacks , which we ’ ll visit before journeying south towards Lapland , stopping on the Norwegian / Finnish border on our way to Ivalo , Finland .

DAY 16 • Inari • Sami family • Home- Hosted Dinner Visit the Siida Museum , which focuses on Sami and northern Lapland culture and nature . Then , visit with a Sami family and learn about the importance of reindeer and their role in the life of the Sami . Later , enjoy a Home-Hosted Dinner .
