MESSAGE FROM RAV MOSHE BENDER, ASSOCIATE DEAN
The month that my family and I get to spend at Camp Oraysa is
one that we treasure.
With the Rosh Yeshiva, 13 distinguished rabbeim and families,
and 205 bachurim, together on one upstate campus, those four
weeks are a time of genuine quality, achdus, and ruach. At Camp
Oraysa the bachurim not only grab the opportunity to reach greater
heights in learning and avodah; they build and strengthen healthy,
lasting relationships with their rabbeim and each other.
Starting at the end of June, the Camp Oraysa session creates
an uninterrupted hemshech from the previous ten months in
yeshiva. With a modified yet serious learning schedule, in a more
relaxed atmosphere, and with ample opportunities for recreation,
the bachurim shteig in a way that they simply could not had they
remained in Far Rockaway. From the daily sedarim and shiurim
to the occasional trips [for Mesivta bachurim] to the derhoibene
Shabbosos and stirring kumzitzen, the Camp Oraysa experience is
unmatched.
Camp Oraysa is the ultimate place - and the ultimate program -
for our talmidim to recharge for the year ahead while attaining new
levels of learning, hasmada and middos.
Enjoy this small glimpse of our amazing summer. I am grateful
to have been a part of it.
