MIKE KLUGE
In cycling circles, Mike Kluge needs no
introduction. He has been a professional
in road racing, mountain biking, on the
track. In 1992, he added Elite
Cyclocross World Champion to his
list of accomplishments.
Local cycling stalwart, Oliver
Wacek from Trinity Cycle
Works, who stock the
Focus brand, has formed
a friendship with Mike
through their mutual
love of life on two
wheels. He extended
an invitation to Mike to
visit the Far North,
and after attending
the Tour Down Under
in South Australia in
January, Mike
returned to the town
he recalls so fondly.
Jules Steer from Oasis Magazine had a chat with Mike to gain a better
insight into his life on and off the bike, and discuss what Cairns
becoming a Cycling Hub means to the local community.
