Walk Arcade are thrilled to introduce the 2017 Oceana
Walk Arcade Fashion Ambassadors.
What inspired you to be an Oceana Walk Arcade
Fashion Ambassador? I spend most of my life in my
costume shop transforming and entertaining people
to make them feel comfortableand beautiful. It was
a great surprise and a wonderful gift to be given the
opportunity to be pampered and dressed so
elegantly - I even had my nails done for the first time!
It's also an honour to represent the more "curvy"
women of Cairns!
How do you like to enjoy the racing season? Most of the
time, I attend the races employed as a roving Character
entertainer. I weave through the bubbling crowds dressed
as Carmen Miranda, Marilyn Monroe or The Mad Hattress.
Which stores do you particularly like to visit in Oceana Walk
Arcade? I love them all! Especially Vintage Seeker, the Ol'
fashioned record shop Revival Records and Gypsett.

What inspired you to be an Oceana Walk Arcade Fashion Ambassador?
I am very excited and incredibly honoured for this opportunity, which
gives me the opportunity to continue my passion of racing fashion,
and to have the ability to inspire others, as well as to mentor
and guide those who share the same passion.
How do you like to enjoy the racing season? The most
exciting part for me is the planning stage! I spend weeks
looking for the perfect fabric, spend hours researching
current trends and am then inspired by the European
catwalks and fashion designers. I tend to keep my
inspiration and ideas to myself until I've sketched
and mapped out my vision. I guess in a way, this is
my creative outlet. It's a great network for people to
come together to support one another, while having
a few champagnes.
Which store/s do you particularly like to visit in OWA
(Oceana Walk Arcade)? Oceana Walk Arcade stocks
some of my favourite brands including Camilla and
Alice McCall. Vivienne Francine also stock some
amazing bespoke one-off millinery pieces that I adore by
the very talented Bernice Patton, who is one of Cairns'
local milliners. My other favourite would have to be Eggplant
and Poppy, they have some beautiful and unique handmade arts
and crafts!
