Year 6
Islamic Studies
Year 6 created an Islamic exhibition. We learned about many physicians’ in the Golden ages.
Al-Zahrawi who invented catgut which is used for internal stitching, the surgical needle (injection), plasters and bandages.
Ibn Al-Haytham who studied the eye and was the founder of the cameras. That is why the front of the camera blinks every time you take a picture.
Pet Day
At school every year we have a ‘Pet day.' Pet day is when children are allowed to bring their pets to school.
This year we had a few animals which was really sad but we did have a lot of fun with them.
The Head teacher’s parrot didn’t come which was really sad because we love to see her and will miss her.
Art
This was the first time we used charcoal to draw and shade a picture. I had a lot of fun shading and using my fingers to create the different shades. My picture looked better than I thought it would.
