TA: What are the top three things that bring you joy as it relates to working with our clients?

RH: First off, discovering that their financial plans will work for them throughout their lives. Secondly, providing them with confidence through the use of safety nets (downside protection) so we'll never have to say "we're sorry." Finally, continually providing education for them and seeing the "lights turn on" as they understand more and more about themselves as individual investors.

TA: You have hired three people over the past year. How do you respond to rumors of a coming retirement?

RH: Retirment for everyone is a very personal and individual decision. One definition of retirement is "to withdraw from use, or to deem useless." I will answer your question with the Fisherman's Prayer:

"I pray that I may live to fish until my dying day and when my final cast is made, and life has slipped away, I pray that God's great landing net will catch me in it's swoop, and in His mercy, God will judge me big enough to keep."

TA: 45 years ago, where did you see yourself today?

RH: Pretty much right where I am now! Of course, having two sons in the business is a special bonus, as well as having a young and intelligent staff of high energy people. I wanted to go to the end, and "the end ain't here yet!"

TA: Where do you see this company in 45 years?

RH: I hope that many of our young people (and maybe their children) will be at the helm. In the future, as in the past, there seems to be constant change and innovation, much of which many of us cannot predict or even comprehend. Let's all stick around to find out!
