scarecrow trail created by local Scout troops while walking
along a scenic one-mile paved path around Meadow Lake. Free

through 35 months of age with a caregiver. Includes an intro-
duction to emergent literacy skills, music, exercise, movement
and baby and toddler interaction.
Cosley Zoo, 1356 N. Gary Ave.: Daily in October. See the zoo’s
animals, see the straw pyramid and walk through corn stalk
tunnel. Apples, gourds, pumpkins, cider, cornstalks, and various
sizes of straw bales are available to purchase.

to interact with museum educators from institutions across
Chicago.
