Seven Dwarfs"

literacy by sharing stories together. Parents and caregivers, are
you up to the challenge of reading 1,000 books to your child
before kindergarten? Register at the Youth Services desk to
meet milestones and earn incentives.
Beverly Arts Center, 2407 W. 111th St.: “Snow White and The
Seven Dwarfs” is a one-hour musical based on the original Fairy
Tale. It tells the story of a Queen who orders her stepdaughter
to leave so she can be the “fairest of them all.” Snow White finds
a cottage with seven goofy dwarfs and instantly becomes best
friends.

Disney in Concert: Tim Burton’s “The Nightmare Before
Christmas”
The Congress Plaza Hotel, 520 S. Michigan Ave.: This two-hour,
mostly indoor downtown walking tour welcomes guests of
all ages to learn how and why the 1893 World’s Fair captures
imaginations more than any other event in Chicago’s history.
Auditorium Theatre, 50 E. Congress Pkwy: “This is Halloween,
this is Halloween!” Celebrate Halloween and Day of the Dead
with this very special screening of the beloved movie, Tim
Burton’s “The Nightmare Before Christmas.” Follow along as
Jack, the Pumpkin King, attempts to bring the Christmas spirit
to his spooky hometown. The classic film is brought to life with
a concert performance featuring the Chicago Philharmonic
performing Danny Elfman’s classic score. Come dressed in your
Halloween best and participate in a costume contest in the
Auditorium’s 128-year-old lobby.

Batavia Chamber of Commerce, 106 W. Wilson St.: Celebrate
the Holidays by building your own Batavia Village! The Batavia
Chamber has commissioned a limited quantity of scaled models
of our very own wonderful and historic buildings to be released
annually. The inaugural piece is the beautiful Batavia United
Methodist Church and is available for purchase at the Batavia
Chamber office while supplies last. The Batavia Depot Museum
Village piece is planned for 2020!

Prairie School of DuPage, 1926 N. Main St.: This early childhood
weekend tour takes a deeper look at daily life and curriculum.
We will step inside the Prairie School classroom space and
experience it as the early childhood students do. We will be
outside for a short time during this tour, so please dress for the
weather! Children are welcome.

Tony Bettenhausen Recreation Center, 8125 W. 171 St.: Ho!
Ho! Ho! The Park District has made special arrangements for
children age 4-10 to receive a call from Santa Claus. Calls will
be made from Dec. 3-14 between 3 and 7 p.m. at Santa’s conve-
nience. Participants must register at the Park District office be-
fore Nov. 30 by completing one of Santa’s special calling forms.
Santa will make one phone call to families with multiple
children and talk to each child during the call.
Bicentennial Park & Theatre, 201 W. Jefferson St: Please join
PCHS Theatre in kicking off the holiday season with Elf The Mu-
sical! William “Buddy” Hobbs, a young orphan child, mistakenly
crawls into Santa Claus’ bag of gifts and is transported to the
North Pole. After discovering the baby, Santa and his elves de-
cide to raise the child as an elf. Years later, Buddy finds out that
he’s actually a human being and, at Santa’s prompting, heads
off to New York City in search of his father, Walter Hobbs. Faced
with the harsh reality that his father is on the naughty list and
that his half-brother, Michael, doesn’t even believe in Santa,
Buddy is determined to win over his birth family and help New
York City remember the true meaning of Christmas.

3 Bears” is a one-hour musical based on the original Fairy Tale.
When Goldilocks and her dog, Bailey, venture into the woods
to find a friend for her mom, she stumbles upon a house, but
no one is home. Will Goldi be able to make it back to her mom
before she notices she is gone?
