Holiday season is just about everyone’s favorite time
of year. Kids are anticipating the first falling snow, and
parents are searching for the hot toys of the season.
Get a glimpse of some new toy and game ideas at
the Chicago Toy and Game Show on Nov. 21-22 (see
details on page 14).
Don’t miss this new expo that’s open to everyone:
America’s Baking and Sweets Show coming on Nov.
13-15 to the Renaissance Convention Center in Schaumburg. This brand new show will get you inspired
to create the pies, cakes and desserts of your dreams
for the upcoming holidays. Our favorite cake boss, Duff Goldman, will be appearing. Find more details on pages 6-7.
The circus is back in town in November. Ringling Bros. & Barnum & Bailey
Presents Circus Extreme from Nov. 5-15 at the Allstate Arena and Nov. 19-29
at the United Center. See the details on page 11, and more performances on
pages 9-13.
If you’re headed downtown this holiday season, take note that Chicago’s
Christmas tree is NOT located in Daley Plaza this year, but has moved to
Millennial Park. The lighting ceremony is on Nov. 24. While you’re in the
city, check out the new ice skating ribbon in Maggie Daley Park. It’s another
Chicago-only experience.
For festivities closer to home, see pages 18-24 for Santa Sightings in your
town. There are meals, workshops, races and lots more opportunities to see
Santa, his elves or Mrs. Claus.
Wind up the season at one of the family-friendly New Year’s Eve events on
pages 26-27. It’s a perfect way to celebrate early with your children, so you
still have time for a quiet sip of champagne to reflect on your memories of
2015 and anticipate the fun yet to come in 2016.
