After the story, we will head out for a hike with activities tied to the story. Free. May 7, 10am-1pm EverDream Nursery Hosts Plant Sale Woodstock: 847-641-1649, www.everdreamnursery.com Hooved Animal Humane Society, 10804 McConnell Rd. Plant sale in support of the Hooved Animal Humane Society. EverDream Nursery provides a variety of perennials, ornamental grasses, and young ornamental shrubs sold at $5.97 per plant. While purchasing plants, check out the horses and stables at HAHS. Free to attend. May 7, 10am-4pm Chicago Kids and Kites Festival Chicago: www.cityofchicago.org/city/en/depts/dca/ supp_info/kids_and_kites_festival.html Cricket Hill in Lincoln Park, Montrose and Wilson. The City of Chicago will provide kite kits for children to build, decorate and fly, while supplies last. Other activities include face painting, balloon artists and crafts.Big Kite Candy Drop takes place during the afternoon, weather permitting.
