They’ve spent the summer having fun in the sun; now let your
little ones flirt with the dirt! Kids and parents should wear
clothes and shoes that can be disposed of, and have protection
for car seats on the way home.
901 Leicester Road: FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT A family night packed
full of fun! Come out to Pirates’ Cove for a special night of play
and movie The Pirate Fairy!
Whitney Street, Historic Downtown: This event takes place on
Friday and Saturday, Aug. 16 & 17! Family music festival with
activities for the entire family. Music, food vendors, business
booth area. Bike and pet parade, noon Saturday (line up on
Slusser Street begins at 10am). Sponsored by the Exchange
Club of Grayslake! Go Kart Races, 1pm Seymour Avenue Parking
Lot (across from the Grayslake Village Hall). Bags Tournament,
noon (Near Main Stage).
Lake Ellyn Park, 645 Lenox Road: Stop by Lake Ellyn Park to try
our canoes, kayaks, or a pedal boat! Instructions can be given
on dry land before you head out onto the water. All ages wel-
come, however, each participant must be able to safely fit into
a Glen Ellyn Park District life jacket.

tivities for young children and their adults, including a “make &
take” project to enjoy together. This program is open to children
of all ages. Registration is not required.
Cornerstone Books, 22 S Villa Ave: We’re at Cornerstone Books in
Villa Park once a month to tell stories and visit the community!
Come by and enjoy a change of venue with us. This program is
open to children of all ages, accompanied by an adult. Registra-
tion is not required.

Fall Storytime Registration Begins Today

Wauconda Park District, 600 N. Main Street: Grab a blanket and
a picnic dinner and join us at Cook Park under the stars for an
evening of family fun! This is a free event, open to the public.
Please check the website for rain out information. The movie
will begin at dusk; between 8:30 and 8:45pm. Concessions will
be available for purchase.
Highland Park Public Library, 494 Laurel Ave: Fall Storytime
registration begins today. Register in person at the Youth
Services desk or by phone at 847-681-7030. Tales for Tots and
Storytime Live classes start September 16 . Baby Booktime and
First Steps classes start in October.

Your oldest stained clothes and shoes, along with goggles are
recommended.
