Kidcreate Studio, 3709 N Southport Ave: Lunch and Doodle is a
great way for kids to extend their camp experience. Use Lunch
and Doodle to add an hour to a morning or afternoon camp or
to create a full day camp experience when signing up for both
the morning and afternoon camps.
Gorton Community Center, 400 East Illinois Road: We are
excited to once again offer our Safety Town Commanders Camp
- modeled after the original Safety Town, but with a curriculum
built for ages 8-10. Camp will run Aug. 13, 14 and 15 from
12:30-4pm. The camp starts with a quick review of the original
Safety Town (now called Majors) and then goes in-depth with
experts in areas ranging from fire safety to internet safety and
beyond. Topics will cover many categories pertinent to this age
group including what to do if your alarm goes off, gun safety,
walking home alone, falls, poison/medicine safety, bullying/
cyber bullying and mindfulness. Children will be taught things
like how to use a fire extinguisher and how to navigate safely in
today’s cyber world.

Museum Maker Mondays

Elmhurst History Museum on select Mondays for fun activities.
Kids and caregivers can explore the museum, play games, make
a craft, and picnic on the grounds weather permitting. Crafts
available while supplies last. Kids must be accompanied by an
adult, no registration required.

Oakbrook Terrace Park District (Heritage Center), 1S325 Ard-
more Ave: The Villa Park Public Library is bringing storytime to
the OBTPD. Each session will feature stories, music, and move-
ment geared for young children exploring their world. This
program is open to children of all ages with an adult. Registra-
tion is not required.
Park Place, 550 S. Park Blvd.: Get up close and personal with the
big rigs on August 13! Held at Park Place (550 S Park Blvd.) this
free event features garbage trucks, dump trucks, emergency
