Maree says the balustrades
were originally a Canadian
pine that didn’t work visually.

solid American oak handrails,
and is much more sturdy.”

Top and above: Caesarstone
benchtops were specified for the
new kitchen cabinets as they closely
resemble the colour of the sandstone
walls. All the cabinets are American
oak veneer, except for the front of
the peninsula, which is clad in the
original meranti timber.
