On Saturday morning we drove to Toowoomba carnival at Oakey as it was only 20 minutes away from our house. It had rained all Friday night and the fields were mud so it was going to be called off until the sun came out so we played, I played for Tansy’s second junior team and we won our first game. In our second game we had to play Tansy’s first junior team and we lost but it was fun playing against Rachel. It rained all Saturday night so play was cancelled on Sunday. We packed up and left around midday.

I was meant to leave on Monday but I was having such a fun time and a big women’s competition was on in Chinchilla the following weekend so after much begging of mum and dad I was allowed to stay for another week.

So on the Friday we were excitedly collected from school by Craig and Wayne to pack for the weekend. On Saturday we got up at 5.30 am and got the horses on the truck and we were off on a short drive to Chinchilla. All the women were put in a pool and random teams were selected. I played number one for Stanley Rivers. We won two games and lost two but I was happily able to play a new horse called McIntyre who I enjoyed riding the most.

On Monday I said goodbye to my host family and flew home to New Zealand. The polocrosse on Australia was much bigger than New Zealand I liked playing with lots of people my age.

I would like to say a huge thank you to the Kakatahi Polocrosse Club for all their support. New Zealand Polocrosse for the Scholarship to Queensland.

A special thank you to the Burma Polocrosse Club, New Zealand Rural Woman and Rick Collins for their support of my trip. Last of all I would like to thank my mum and dad for organising my trip and supporting me and allowing me to go.
