The following list of resources has been compiled as a reference tool for
patients to use when evaluating health insurance options and to raise
awareness of other programs and services available to the bleeding
disorder community. Patients transferring coverage or purchasing a new
plan are advised to seek the counsel of plan administrators familiar with
state laws, plans, and benefits.
Healthcare.gov
Helps consumers understand terms and insurance reforms. Individuals can
research available coverage options. Provides contact information to state
agencies. State-specific information is also available for CHIP and Medicaid:

Health Care Finder
Federal government website designed to help consumers find and compare
private health plans. This is not the Health Insurance Marketplace. It is a site
that identifies some health plans that are available outside the Marketplace:

Hemophilia Association of New York (HANY)
Assistance with cost and benefit evaluations using a template to help
determine a patients' out-of-pocket expenses based on co-pays, deductibles,
and maximum out-of-pocket expenses for specific plans. Other resources are
also available to assist the evaluation process. Service areas include New York,
Kings, Queens, Richmond, Bronx, Nassau, Suffolk, Dutchess, Orange, Putnam,
Rockland, Sullivan, Ulster, and Westchester Counties:
