Windows Client Essentials 10150177 This course will provide the learner the opportunity to develop the knowledge, skills, process, and understanding of client OS installation, configuration, administration, including troubleshooting, network connectivity, standard system maintenance procedures, and command line introduction. PowerShell Intro 10150191 Develop fundamental knowledge of the language, editors, and logic.( Prerequisite: 10-150-200, Cisco Intro; 10-150-177, Windows Client Essentials; 10-804-134, Mathematical Reasoning) Course Typically Offered: Fall Spring
Cisco Intro 10150200 Introduces the architectures, models, protocols, and networking elements that connect users, devices, applications and data through the internet and across modern computer networks- including IP addressing and Ethernet fundamentals. By the end of the course, students can build simple local area networks( LANs) that integrate IP addressing schemes, foundational network security, and perform basic configurations for routers and switches. Linux Structure 10150160 An introductory look at the Linux operating system. Installation and configuration; boot up and login process; directory structure purpose / use; maneuvering in the Command Line Interface; understanding Long Directory Listings; Users and Groups; modifying permissions; service installation and management; and troubleshooting. Please be aware, this is a Linux administration course. We will start with and primarily use no GUI( Graphical User Interface). We will primarily be working in the command line. Cisco Intermediate 10150201 Switching technologies and router operations that support small-to-medium business networks and includes wireless local area networks( WLANs) and security concepts. Students learn key switching and routing concepts. They can perform basic network configuration and troubleshooting, identify, and mitigate LAN security threats, and configure and secure a basic WLAN. A grade of“ C” or better must be achieved in 10-150-200 Cisco Intro in order to enroll in this course.( Pre-Requisite: 10-150-200, Cisco Intro with a " C " or better; 10-150-177, Windows Client Essentials) Course Typically Offered: Fall Spring
Microsoft Server Intro 10150167 Acquire necessary skills for supporting and configuring Windows Server including installation and configuration of an Active Directory Domain. Account administration, group policy management and core server roles and features are identified. Cybersecurity students: the prerequisite is 10-151-105, PowerShell for Cybersecurity. IT Systems Administrator program students: the prerequisite is 10-150-191, PowerShell Intro.( Prerequisite: 10-150-177, Windows Client Essentials; 10-150-200, Cisco Intro; 10-151-105, PowerShell for Cybersecurity; 10-150-191, PowerShell Intro) Course Typically Offered: Fall Spring
Linux Scripting 10150161 Build upon the Linux skills acquired in Linux Structure by learning shell scripting with Bash. We will look at using Variables, Operators, Decision Making, Loops, Input / Output, Functions, and finally automating administrator tasks. All of this will take place in multiple Linux environments.
