Spotted Saddle Horse Definition Gait: Smooth gait, excluding the trot, with the ability to perform required divisional / class descriptions.
Color: Tobiano and overo coat color patterns accepted. Plus horse coats containing at least ONE SPOT 2”( two Inches) or more in diameter of white color with primary coat color.
The NWHA requests your feedback regarding the definition clarification for Spotted Saddle Horses.

The link to submit feedback will be open for 30 calendar days.
The spot must be above the level line on the front legs and above the hocks on the back legs as seen in Figure A. The spot must be separate from any stockings. Spot or spots on genitals alone do not qualify.
A mixed mane or mixed tail alone does not qualify as a spot.
The spot must be separate from any typical facial markings. Spot must be behind the line in Figure B. A line from the back of the horses ears to the bottom of the top lip.
Judges and show management have the right to verify any spot. Also verification can be provided using:
• Current coggins, that shows the spot area clearly.
• Registration papers from a Spotted Saddle Horse Association verifying that the horse has a spot. Papers need to clarify the location, size of spot and / or spotted coat color.
• Paperwork verifying color from reputable genetic lab.
