NATIONAL WALKING HORSE ASSOCIATION BOARD MEETING HIGHLIGHTS
June – September 2025
• Rules Committee has been working on a variety of rule updates including showmanship and equitation.
• Youth Committee held numerous youth programs throughout the year and specifically during the National Championship Show including horse judging, video contest, stall judging contest, youth pizza and ice cream parties, riding clinic and more.
• New computer software has been purchased to improve communications during The National Show.
• Five apprentice judges have been apprenticing shows this year and are working to finish their licensure requirements.
• Judges clinic topics are being finalized and the Judges clinic will be held January 17, 2026 at Embassy Suites.
• Plans are being made for the Annual Meeting to be held January 16 and 17, 2026 at Embassy Suites.
• Social media platforms have seen consistent increases in activity.
• Tons of work has gone into planning and organizing The 2025 National Championship Show.
• Carol Lamberson has resigned from her board position, and Matt Janisch was appointed to fill her term.
