As the saying goes, there is no“ I” in team. Your Executive Committee comprises like-minded members with common goals and an agenda. Yes, we have an agenda: to fulfill the NWHA mission and to rebuild the organization as it was when it was founded. We are looking to put the horse first, with members input and assistance.
As we enter the 2026 show season, we look forward to new adventures and overcoming challenges that have evolved over the years. In the age of technology, there is no reason that NWHA should function in a silo. That is why at the annual membership meeting, we voted to remove the sole powers of the president. One person should not dictate the needs of the organization. NWHA was founded as a membership-driven organization, and this is one of our main focus areas. We will communicate as much as we are allowed without compromising any personal or legal information. We are diligently identifying issues, creating solutions, and instituting preventive measures.
First on our agenda is to tackle the administrative gray areas and align the Bylaws and Standard Operating Procedures( SOPs) to support our mission. We aim to ensure all committees have an SOP to establish continuity of purpose.
Plans are in the pipeline for updates to the website for easier access to frequently requested information. Affiliated and sanctioned events will be conveniently located

under the new calendar tab with all the details of any NWHA events. On-going activities of the Board of Directors, such as meeting minutes highlights, and financials will be publicly available and posted to the website as soon as approved. Members can access these documents at any time at www. nwha. com. Check the website often to see the ongoing improvements.
Second, to advocate and educate about our wonderful sound breed. We are looking for volunteers to host fun shows, clinics, write articles, and / or create videos. Taking part not only promotes the horse but it promotes the NWHA and you as well.
Third, to increase two-way communication. As a membership-driven organization, we need your ideas, comments and suggestions to improve. If a problem or issue arises, are you willing to be part of the solution? Complaining is destructive. This is your call to action!
Your Executive Committee has identified several problems and is stepping up to be part of the solution. It’ s going to be a challenge, but with your assistance we can bring NWHA back to the amazing organization on which it was founded.
We look forward to working for you and with
you!
