Mag has been involved with Walking Horses since 1971 when she was introduced to them in college.
Since then, she has owned, trained, shown, bought, sold, and raised many Tennessee Walking Horses. She was a TWHBEA director in Ohio for several terms and served on the Pleasure Committees for TWHBEA and WHOA. She is the long time President of the Mid-Ohio Walking Horse Association.
Mrs. Ranft has been instrumental in the success of the Ohio Classic NWHA Region 2 show for numerous years as well serving as the Co-Chair of the National Show Committee.
In 2024, she became an NWHA Board member once again and is devoted to the promotion of the sound flat shod Tennessee Walking Horse.
Youth Liaison
Leah is a Northeast Regional Director and an active contributor to the show horse and equine community. Although a late bloomer in the show world, she began riding at the age of six and brings a lifelong passion to every role she serves.
Leah retired after many years owning a successful bridal, prom, and pageant boutique where she had the honor of dressing titleholders from Miss USA, Miss Teen USA, Miss America, Miss America Teen, and competitors from other notable pageants.
Within the NWHA, Leah acted as a liaison for the Trail Committee and currently serves as Youth Committee Liaison. She is also the Director of the annual Indiana Celebration where she actively supports exhibitors, encourages youth participation, and advances overall growth.
Leah has enjoyed many successful years showing her Lite Shod horse, Walking To Heaven, who is now retired. This year she found both success and enjoyment in the Trail Pleasure division competing with Royal Reign All Around.
Outside of the show ring, Leah loves trail riding and camping with her mare, Betty, cherishing the time spent in the saddle and on the trail. Leah is married to John Terrell and is the proud mother of four grown children and grandmother to four grandchildren.
