2023 Annual Meeting Updates
Dear NWHA Members ,

2023 Annual Meeting Updates

Welcome Members !

The 2023 Board of Directors would like thank all of our members who showed up to support the Annual Judges Clinic , membership meeting , and banquet this past weekend . We had an amazing turnout , and by far one of the greatest silent auctions , raising over $ 4,200 . We are so appreciative of everyone who donated and bid on items , and we would like to recognize Jean-Marie Degville and JoEllen Finerfrock for their help in coordinating donations and promoting the event . Additionally , thank you to Kim Richwine , our emcee , for her work at the podium and for setting up the photo booth . Finally , a special thank you to Katie Helfrich , for her time served on the NWHA Board and as Treasurer .
We would like to share some exciting updates that were discussed and presented in the Annual Membership Meeting . With JoEllen ’ s transition into the role of Treasurer , Sydney Deal has been appointed to fill the open seat on the Board of Directors . Please join us in welcoming her into her new role .
The NWHA has invested in the future of our organization and membership with the introduction of two new databases . The first is the Join-It membership database . As a NWHA member , you now have the ability to view your member number at any time , make edits to your contact information , store payment methods for automatic renewals ( if desired ), and choose your own preferred communication method ( electronic or mail ). Instructions on how to renew your membership for the 2023 season can be found at www . nwha . com / join-us . Please feel free to reach out to the NWHA office should you have any questions !
The second database is the result of an exciting partnership between the NWHA and the Walking Horse Report . Show managers will still continue to submit their results to the NWHA office as they have done in the past . After review , the NWHA office will forward to the Walking Horse Report to enter the results into their database . Members can easily access their points , review a specific horse ’ s points , and more . For more information , please visit www . nwha . com / high-points .
In 2022 , the NWHA Board of Directors decided to trial the addition of the Rider ’ s Cup classes . These classes noted as “ RC ” on the showbill , were previously open classes , open to professional , amateur , and youth riders . For 2023 , the Board of Directors has decided to approve another year of incorporating the Rider ’ s Cup classes into The National . This comes at no cost to our membership , and all of our members are encouraged to participate in these classes . Last year , we had several amateur and youth participants enter these classes and even won ! If you have any questions about the Rider ’ s Cup and those designated classes , please reach out to the NWHA office office @ nwha . com .
Currently in process we are developing quarterly membership feedback communications , an NWHA T-shirt design contest for The National , an Ambassador and Ranch Horse Development program , rebranding the Trail program , and committee development . Membership feedback requests will be sent out via SurveyMonkey , so please keep an eye on your email and the NWHA website and Facebook page !
Keep an eye on our event page at www . nwha . com / event-page for affiliated and sanctioned events ! We thank you for your membership , and look forward to seeing you at an NWHA event soon .
Sincerely ,
