In 2022 , even with the challenges shifting from COVID-19 to rising fuel cost and inflation , participation at NWHA shows continued to be really strong !
Thank you , exhibitors , for continuing to bring sound horses to inspection and following the inspection protocol . You are appreciated .
I would like to recognize our 2022 team and thank them for a job well done . Please join me in thanking Jim Sizer , Kim Sizer , Jim Wray , Will Kowlaski , Joe Edison , Tina Landis , and shared WHOA DQPs Terry Martin and Leon Gibbs . Tina is retiring in 2023 , however we appreciate her service to the NWHA over these many years .
Our show managers and show secretaries did a great job getting their affiliations and showbills to the office on time . As a reminder , pre-show reports including the class list and affiliation forms must be submitted to the USDA a minimum of 30 days prior to every show . A new requirement in 2022 was the addition of the judges contact information and address on our DQP post show report , and Cassidie has added an area to the affiliation form and it can be downloaded at www . nwha . com / show .
Paula Sue and Gale Dodde worked together with Susan Paul of WHOA to develop new entry forms at the National to keep us in compliance with the USDA . Please thank them for all the extra hours spent .
The 2022 National was very successful with a total of 1,142 entries inspected pre-show and post-show . Versatility classes are not inspected and therefore not included in my report . Total inspections for 2022 equal 5,017 . Being a DQP is both physically and mentally challenging so please thank your DQP team for picking up 10,037 feet in 2022 !
I ’ ll be updating you on any new requirements / regulations after our 2023 USDA / HIO training .
Our team needs a DQP in the OH , IL and IN area . For information on what is required to be a licensed DQP please contact Peggy Moore directly at 931-703- 5757 or nwhadqpteam @ gmail . com .
