The Pegasus Award , established in 2007 , is an award to recognize a fellow NWHA member who has given outstanding service to our organization through donations of personal time , funds , and energy – helping NWHA to advance its mission for the horse .

The Youth Achievement Award , established in 2014 , that will be presented to the NWHA youth member who exemplifies the highest level of dedication and support of the NWHA mission and organization by inspiring and educating others through leadership and community events that promote NWHA and the sound walking horse . This award will be presented to the youth member who demonstrates exemplary levels of personal and professional achievement , are members in good standing , volunteer their time to NWHA in a meaningful way , promote the sound walking horse , and display leadership qualities .
