Weeks Members/Guests: Kimberly O’Connor, Chief Administrative Officer Approval of September 11, 2018 Meeting Minutes: Motion to approve minutes by K. Tanner. 2nd by K. McGuire. Motion approved. Financial Report Discussion by K. McGuire: Motion to approve by M. Ranft. 2nd by C. Weeks. Approved. The 2018 National Recap and Planning for the 2019 National by K. Tanner & M. Ranft: Shavings balanced within 2 bags, RV sites and stalls balanced. Overall there were many positive comments on the show being well run with great help. K. Tanner to send thank you notes to all the sponsors. Motion by J. Potter to host the 2019 National at the Calsonic arena in Shelbyville, TN. 2nd by S. Gibbs. Motion carried. October 9, 2018 Annual Meeting: Communication to members will be sent with dates and venue details. BOD Positions: Communication will be sent to membership regarding upcoming vacant positions for 2019. Marianne Springer will chair the 2019 Nominating Committee. NWHA News Ads and Communication: The next issue will highlight the 2018 National and members’ accomplishments. DQP Director Position: Requirements for the position to be reviewed at the next meeting. K. McGuire excused herself. Change of Status Request: A change of status request from Professional to Amateur status by K. McGuire was reviewed. Motion by K. Tanner to approve the change of status with a 5 year required waiting period per regulations. 2nd by C. Weeks. Motion carried. Motion to adjourn by J. Nagel. 2nd by M. Ranft. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 8:58 pm Eastern time. Youth Helmets: S. Gibbs researched youth helmet requirements and shared the USEF synopsis of state laws. NWHA rules are consistent and in some cases more stringent with published guidelines. No changes are proposed at this time to NWHA’s helmet rules. NWHA National News / November 2018 7
