Perhaps the most fun classes to watch were the speed events. Pole Bending and Barrels are always exciting to watch, especially as the spectators are tasting wine, beer, and other beverages members brought from their home state. Ribbon Pairs tested how well 2 riders could get their horses to move together while they held on to a length of crepe paper. The team that was able to do the called maneuvers without breaking or dropping the “ribbon” goes home with bragging rights for the year. Reining and Western Reining prove our horses can do it all. And Showmanship and Model show how pretty they are working as flawless teams with their exhibitors. Versatility classes always involve laughter, fun, and new challenges. You now have an entire year to practice and join in the fun next year!
