WELCOME TO THE JUNE 2019
ISSUE OF THE NATIONAL NEWS
It is hard to believe how quickly the year is progressing – and many of our regions are underway
with an assortment of shows, dressage competitions, trail rides and exciting endurance events.
There are so many great new and returning events planned for the entire year. Please make
sure you visit the event calendar on nwha.com for the full list of events in your area and plan
on attending, volunteering or offering a sponsorship to support these amazing folks.
NWHA continues to experience tremendous success across our programs and events – and this
success is a result of each of your efforts and support. Our members drive this organization,
and we have a number of member-run committees busy at work on critical tasks.
The National Show Committee is well underway on plans for the 2019 National Show, scheduled
September 16–21, 2019. This team works tirelessly on the class list and schedule with consistent
offerings across our rail divisions and versatility classes. They analyze the fee structure to ensure the
most fair and affordable experience for our exhibitors. They work to select amazing awards and ribbons
for our winners as well as planning events for our attendees and exhibitors throughout the week. And
as in other years, NWHA is proud to support a very worthy charity at the 2019 National Show – the
Wounded Warrior Project. The National Show Committee will reveal this year’s annual Wounded Warriors
t-shirt design soon – so make sure you keep an eye out! And please – make sure you make plans to ride
in the Wounded Warrior Class at the National Show – and let’s support those that have protected us.
But wait – let’s not forget about kickin’ up our heels and celebrating – so plan on joining us at our
Big Wigs and Bowties themed exhibitor party on Friday night of the National Show! All of our
exhibitors, volunteers and supporters are our big wigs – and we’d like to recognize and thank
each of you with a NWHA sponsored dinner, music and possibly a little dance off competition!
