Country Pleasure Optional Tack
2 Gait boasted the most class
entries for the day with I’m San
Jose earning the blue ribbon ride
with Morgan Applewhite up for owner Judy Hadley. Hadley’s
entry would go on to take home the Country Pleasure Western 2
Gait Championship in the last class of the day.
Congratulations to Mrs. Jennifer Batts or Rocky Mount, NC on her
Equitation Medallion winning ride on her mare Miss Sarah Allen. In
the Intermediate Equitation, exemplifying the art of horsemanship,
Lauren Fleischer won the class riding Trump This, owned by
Maureen Dolce of CA and trained by Roey Mobley of Milestone
Walking Horses – Holly Ridge, NC. My Stormy Morning, shown by
owner Carol Myers was second followed by Lyn Montgomery’s
third place, El Tresor shown by new NWHA Youth member Lexie
Blahak. Blahak’s mother, Kelly received fourth in the irons on
Coin’s Playmate Jett for owner Roey Mobley. Montgomery’s
horse also sent home the win and the NWHA Members silver plate
to Rainbow, CA with trainer Roey Mobley.
Marti Vitulli brought her 3 horses all the way from Lakeland, FL,
following the show in Asheville. Marti won the Plantation Pleasure
2 Gait Championship on her mare Lightning’s Belladonna in
addition to a reserve champion for her K & M’s Boondox in the
Racking Horse Championship. Way to go Marti, thank you for
showing with us!
Overall the show had 19 horses qualify for the Regional
Championships to be held at the National Championship show
in September. These horses placed 1st through 3rd in order to
qualify to enter the same division classes at the National.
