NWHA BOD Minutes November 8, 2016 Conference Call Meeting called to order by President Amy Spinelli at 8:06 pm EST.

USDA update and DQP status by Peggy Moore
USDA’ s legal obligation for response on the proposed ruling is a 30 day minimum upon reviewing comments. The USDA has a NLT date of Nov. 27th based on the comment period ending on Oct. 26th.
It is expected that there will be revisions given the USDA received over 20,000 comments during the comment period and the extension of such which end Oct. 26th.

Repeal the $ 20.00 annual high point nomination fee and the nomination process for 2017

Suggestions to modify current Regional show status criteria:

Create a 2 gait category as a stepping stone to the canter Pleasure Championship to earn the Order of the Equinus
Versatility rule updates / suggestions

Green terminology Change of venue discussion presented by K. Tanner
The show committee considered: AgriCenter / Memphis Miller Coliseum / Murfreesboro Missouri State Fairgrounds / MO Henry Stafford / Harriman, TN Ward Ag Center / Lebanon, TN Great Smoky Mountain / White Pine, TN
Tunica Expo Center / Tunica, MS National Equestrian Center, St. Louis, MO.
Based on arena amenities, local area and date availability, the show committee narrowed the following venues with proposed dates:
Memphis Ag Center- October Harriman- September Calsonic Arena – September Motion for Roll Call vote by A. Spinelli to host the 2017 National at Memphis Ag Center the first week of October.
All present members voted yes via verbal admission. There were no abstains or opposed.
Approved New Judge for approval from Judge’ s Committee presented by Judge’ s Liaison K. O’ Connor
Sue Fenner has passed all requirements and is recommended for NWHA judge’ s licensing.
Motion to approve Sue Fenner as a NWHA licensed judge by J. Potter
