Nationals Judges INTRODUCING YOUR 2019 Jimmy Black I was born and raised in South Carolina and still call the Palmetto state home (as do the Clemson Tigers). My family was involved in agriculture for many generations and horses and mules played a big role in our livelihood. My family became involved with show horses in the mid 1960s and I began showing in 1967 and participated in shows throughout the South East. I began my judging career in 1972 and since that time, I have judged approximately 200 shows across the U.S. and Canada. I have previously officiated at The Nationals in 2004, 2010 and 2016. I am honored and sincerely appreciate being asked to judge again this year. Best of luck to all exhibitors and may the best horse win! Donna Meyer I am an accomplished rider in multiple disciplines. Originally from Connecticut, I knew as a kid that I had “Equinitis”. In order to be able to ride, I decided early on that working within the horse world would get me there. I have worked professionally with horses since 1980, specializing in the training and instruction of English and Western dressage and combined training/jumping. I currently own and operate a full service boarding and training barn in Bryan, Texas. I am an active competitor who has earned my USDF Bronze and Silver Medals. I have shown successfully through Grand prix and am 2 scores away from earning my Gold Medal. I have won numerous horse of the year awards, Regional championships and the Open Great American Insurance Group Championships with a stallion I trained and adored in USDF Region 9. I am an USDF Associate Instructor, a USEF "r" English dressage judge and a USEF “R” Western Dressage Judge. Education and giving back to the sport has always been of utmost importance to me. I pursued my chance to train at the Reitinstitut Von Neindorf in Germany. In 2013, I won the Major Lindgren Scholarship for Instructors along with the Houston Dressage Societies Bushager Award that enabled me to train for 6 weeks in Wellington, Florida with my two FEI horses. I am currently the Region 9 Adult Education Chair for USDF and have held numerous regional and local club offices. I continually attend clinics and continuing education programs including attending the annual USDF convention, and regional and national judges programs. 6 NWHA National News / August 2019
