OHIO CLASSIC REGION 2 CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW
JUNE 22-23, 2018 — SUNBURY, OHIO
Over 300 entries made the gait for the Honorable Gary Feltner to judge at the Mid-Ohio
Walking Horse Association Ohio Classic Region 2 Championship Show June 22-23 at Eden
Equestrian Park in Sunbury, Ohio. Folks traveled from Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana, North
Carolina, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Florida, Tennessee, Virginia, and from all over Ohio to support
this event. Classes with amazing horses....a lot of champions crowned and qualified for the
Regional Grand Championships at the National.
It was a rainy weekend and rains became downright torrential and flooding, but exhibitors
stayed dry with stall to showring under one roof at this venue. Of course, lots of work by Matt
Janisch delivering all kinds of extra shavings to everyone during the flood-ing sure helped…
rain was coming down in buckets….even water troughs at times!!
The all volunteer office crew of Patty Janisch, Amy
Messersmith, Susie Mackanos and Megan Jenkins did
a wonderful job as always to keep the show running
smoothly. Before the show, Terri Smith worked to obtain
donated items for the silent auction that was also in
the office and handled the auction duties throughout
the show. The gate folks in the ring area were great….
Samantha Eveland had never been at a show before
but volunteered for gate duties and still had a smile
at the end. Mat Janisch and David Messersmith also
helped on gates. We had a new DQP at the show
and it was so nice to have Charlotte and Jim Holmes
volunteer to scribe all weekend which was so helpful
to keep the inspection area moving along so exhibitors
had ample warm-up time before their class.
Welcoming exhibitors into the showring, was a lovely center ring display put together with
plants brought by Mag Ranft, Wendy Kaufman and Marianne Springer along with setup help
from Shannon Gibbs, Roger King and the Lowe family.
