Gary Feltner was born and raised on a small ranch in
Southern New Mexico. In 1983, he rode his first TWH.
This mare was so smooth and fun to ride that everyone
in the family fought to ride her. So, the family purchased
more Walking horses. It eventually developed into a horse
breeding operation with “Coin Bad News”, “WGC Starland
Copper Generator” and Gary's father at the cornerstone of
the business. During that time, Gary earned a degree in
Electrical Engineering at NMSU and developed his career
in the Semiconductor industry.
After all those years, the love and passion for the horse
remained and it was time to give back. So, in 2011, Gary
cleaned his glasses, sharpened his pencil and purchased a
new set of duds to begin the journey to become a judge.
He now holds judge’s license with both NWHA and
WHOA. He and his wife (Amy) live on a small gentleman’s ranch outside of Austin, Texas where
they raise/train a few Walking Horses.
