How much different is it baking in front of judges and cameras and with a time limit?
It was very different baking in another kitchen with unknown ingredients, equipment, and pantry placements, and having to verbalize everything you’ re doing. The cameras weren’ t much of an issue as you don’ t really have time to pay attention to them. The time limit was hard because we didn’ t actually have a clock and were only told certain time increments. It’ s very hard to prioritize without knowing every minute that you have.
If you could only eat one baked good for the rest of your life, what would it be?
My caramel apple bourbon cake and chocolate croissants. I can’ t pick just one!
What’ s your most prized or favorite baking tool? My dough sheeter.
What do you like to do when you’ re not baking?
I like to work out at ATG CrossFit, spend time with my family, play volleyball, and snuggle up with my husband while watching a movie.
What was your“ aha!” moment?
Listening to a pastor say we’ re too busy trying to be good at something we aren’ t instead of being great at what God gifted us in. Hearing that, my mindset shifted, and the trajectory of my life went from anesthesiologist to the owner of Georgia’ s most beautiful bakery.
