Berry’ s campus is often described with reverence, and with good reason. To wander its vast acreage is to understand its role as a laboratory, sanctuary, and classroom. It has been named one of the most beautiful colleges in the country by magazines like Architectural Digest and Travel + Leisure. But its landscapes support more than beauty. They provide research environments, agricultural operations, ecology labs, arts and outdoor spaces, and more than 1,000 student jobs. LifeWorks: Crafting a Career by Doing the Work
Across the country, colleges are investing heavily in career development, internships, and experiential education. Berry’ s answer, a program called LifeWorks, arrives with a confidence earned over a century of practice.
LifeWorks isn’ t merely a job program. It’ s a structured ecosystem where students spend eight paid semesters gaining practical, professional experience across more than 150 departments, from animal care and research labs to outdoor leadership and public relations.
Students develop transferable skills, work with mentors, and build a portfolio long before graduation. All the while, they’ re forming networks and discovering what inspires them. Berry’ s Center for Personal and Professional Development supplements the experience with LinkedIn Learning access, skill-building workshops, internships, and advising.
