The Northern Virginia Conservation Trust ( NVCT ) is focused on your future . It is a future we all envision , one that includes ample opportunities to enjoy the miracles and joys of nature closest to where we live and work . NVCT is profoundly aware of Virginia ’ s growth and pressures to change our natural environment , and we are committed to the need to balance these forces with efforts to conserve land in its natural state .
Over the past year NVCT has made a significant impact in conserving land throughout the region , and these accomplishments include :
• Adding three conservation easements to our portfolio ;
• Stewarding more than 150 properties by annual visits to each parcel ;
• Working with 13 Virginia landowners to conserve properties recognized as Virginia Treasures ; and
• Hosting the statewide Virginia Land Conservation Conference .
NVCT is Northern Virginia ’ s regional land trust . We are uniquely positioned to conserve both small urban land parcels as well as hundred-acre plus tracts in the more suburban and rural areas of Northern Virginia . We have expanded our capabilities this past year by adding new staff and new directors to our Board . Your belief in what we can accomplish together is key to our future , and to the future of conserving natural lands in the places where we spend the most time .
