Traditional halvas
The shepherd’s dessert
MATERIALS : 4 cups sugar, 4 cups water, 2 glasses starch, 1 cup
corn oil and 1 cup almonds.
PROCEDURE: We burn the oil in a large saucepan with 1 cup sugar
over medium heat.
We add the remaining ingredients in a bowl and mix well.
As long as the mixture of sugar and oil are on fire , we stir
until the mixture is homogenous and becomes dark honey.
Around 10 minutes are needed for the mixture to become a
delicious candy.
