Who says going to the museum has to
be boring? On Friday, October 14 th , the
NSGSA’s Hospital Representatives
hosted a night out to the Royal Ontario
Museum (ROM) Friday Night Live
event, “Beer Me” to experience a night
of art, culture, and music. Special
exhibits on the science behind beer-
making were displayed amongst the
ROM’s regular line-up of artefacts.
Throughout the night DNS-ers toured
the numerous galleries, ate yummy
snacks from the unique food vendors,
and danced to music spun by some of
the best DJs in the city! As always, the
ROM knows how to put on a show and
this night was definitely one to
remember!

This Hallowe’en, the NSGSA
organized a day full of spooky
activities in the Fitzgerald building
by hosting a Hallowe’en-themed
pot-luck! With classic Hallowe’en-
themed hits like “Thriller” and
“Monster Mash” playing
throughout the afternoon,
students flexed their artistic
abilities by carving pumpkins in
teams. The winning pumpkin
carving was of one of the
mischievous aliens from the Toy
Story movies, brought to life by
Sascha Hunschede, Zhen Lin, and
Sara Stinson. As expected, the
submissions for the ‘Spooky Food’
contest were amazing, with the
final winner being a spider web-
inspired cake made by Zhila
Semnani-Azad. Lastly, the “battle”
for Best Hallowe’en Costume was
extremely tight – Olivia Moran’s
popcorn costume won and Joseph
Jamnik’s recreation of Dr. Alan
Grant from the Jurassic Park
movies came in as a close second.
The NSGSA would like to thank
everyone who participated in the
festivities! See you next year!
