The Nutritional Sciences Graduate Students’ Association (NSGSA)
aims to represent the Department of Nutritional Sciences (DNS)
graduate student body by supporting and engaging students, both at
the university and community level.
During our graduate studies, we are fortunate to learn, whether it be
in a classroom, at a lab bench, in a clinic, etc., and continue to gain
knowledge and develop the way we approach problems and
questions. Yet, gaining
knowledge is only part
of the equation, what
we do with this
knowledge is also
important.

By being involved
in the community
we have the opportunity
to take the knowledge
and experiences we gain from our studies and put it into practice to
(hopefully) contribute to improving quality of life or at least increase
awareness of nutritional sciences and help in deciphering nutrition
information.
This year, the Department of Nutritional Sciences via the NSGSA has
organized and been involved with a number of community-based
initiatives including: weekly fundraising Coffee Breaks, The
aMAZEing Food Journey at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair,
Basketeers, and a Diabetes and Nutrition Workshop.
