Laurel More Wins AAACN’ s 2021 Presidential Above and Beyond Award

Laurel More, MS, RN, NPD-BC, CPN, ambulatory clinical education specialist, is a recipient of the American Association of Ambulatory Care Nursing’ s( AAACN) 2021 Presidential Above and Beyond Award. The award is the highest honor bestowed by the AAACN ​and recognizes AAACN members who, like More, dedicate a significant amount of their time to ​advance ambulatory nursing practice and exceed the expectations of their volunteer role.
More was recognized for the following professional contributions:
• Helping to develop and publish the AAACN’ s“ Nurse Residency Program: Transition to the Specialty of Ambulatory Care”
• Publishing“ Transition to Practice- Part 2 Implementing an Ambulatory Care Registered Nurse Residency Program: Competency- It’ s Not Just a Task” in the Nursing Economics journal​
• Serving as a co-chair of the AAACN’ s Academic-Practice Partnership Task Force, where she created guidelines for academic and practice settings​to strengthen ambulatory partnerships and provide more ambulatory clinical experiences for nursing students​
