Introduction
Welcome to our nursery class. Starting nursery is a major step in your child’s development and we aim
to work in close co-operation with parents/ carers to make the transition from home to nursery as
smooth as possible for child, parent and nursery staff.
We very much look forward to having your child with us in The Community School of Auchterarder
Nursery Class and hope that both you and your child find the experience rewarding and enjoyable.
Staff are committed to creating a safe, happy and stimulating environment where each child is treated
as an individual and encouraged to achieve his/ her full potential.
We seek to promote an active partnership between home and school. We operate an “open door”
policy and are committed to working with parents to solve problems and put things right when they go
wrong. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any concerns regarding your child.

contained within this handbook relates to both the day-to-day running of the nursery class and to the
wider guidance issued by Perth and Kinross Council.
