Not only was the 2018 National Symposium a great opportunity for over 400 Nurse-Family Partnership nurses to learn, reconnect and recharge, it was also an opportunity to thank and honor two of our biggest champions. Bob Hill, who was instrumental in getting the National Service Office off the ground in 2003, has been a long-time board member and served as chairman up until February of this year. For his over twenty years of service and tirelessly furthering the mission of Nurse-Family Partnership, we think it's only right not only to award Bob the inaugural Exceptional Impact Award, but to name it in his honor. The Robert F. Hill Award for Exceptional Impact will honor individuals who have made a significant impact on Nurse-Family Partnership’s mission and vision for the future.
Our second award recipient of the evening was Woodrow “Woody” McCutchen. Woody has been supporting and constantly striving to expand Nurse-Family Partnership’s reach for over a decade. Currently a Managing Director of Blue Meridian Partners and previously the Vice President and Senior Portfolio Manager at The Edna McConnell Clark Foundation, Woody has worked tirelessly to move the needle forward on Nurse-Family Partnership’s goals, scope and reach in communities across the country. “Widespread realization of our vision for change would never have been possible without extraordinary champions like Bob and Woody,” said Dr. David Olds, founder of Nurse-Family Partnership and professor of pediatrics at the University of Colorado, who presented the awardees with their plaques before Tuesday night’s keynote.
