Updating the Ancient:

The JCL Resource Master Site

I distinctly remember my first state convention two years ago. It was at Saint Ignatius high school. But what I remember (second to eating at the food trucks and nervously writing the tests) was the intense preparation – choosing what tests to take and scouring the internet for resources. In fact, that struggle of trying to find study resources was a large part of all of my experiences, whether at state, nationals, or even CARCER.

That is why I created the JCL Source at the end of last year. I want to be able to provide a single resource that links to all others, one site that is the ultimate resource. A site where everyone can access a comprehensive list of other resources, arranged by subject. A site with not only resources for tests at conventions, but also resources for tests like the National Latin Exam, or the National Roman Civilization Exam.

However, my goals soon changed. I wanted to create a site not only for studying, but for learning. These ideas are what have created, what have formed, the JCL Source.

In fact, I don’t want it only to be used for studying - among the things that I’ve added is a blog, where I’ll post about any interesting things that I see. You can sign up for the email list on the homepage.

I’ll also post other people’s submissions to my blog – simply send them to [email protected]. Please include your name and school for me to add to the post, and I’ll just choose what I think is the most helpful thing to post at any given time. If you’ve got an image to go along with your submission, attach it to the email and I’ll put it on the site.
