Storytelling is powerful, and words often convey emotions….
but what if you don’t have the words? What language would you use? Photo’s that generate a emotion through the use of a visual are often even more powerful, as they invoke the viewer’s mind to create the story. Vassillis Pitoulis’ photography uses the language of light, which is rich and intricate, to tell us a story.
Here at NUDE we have the pleasure of having Vassilis Pitoulis--a Greek/Italian Photographer based in Athens—back as a feature photographer for this extra special 5 year Anniversary issue. Vassilis holds a special place at NUDE as his work mentor us all, and he was one of the initial contributors, his beautiful works of photographic art have graced several issues of our magazine over the years.
Working predominantly with a black and white canvass, I find that his pictorials are reminiscent of some of the most classical artistic masters—such as Titian, Van Gogh and Modigliani. Expressing his own perceived beauty in the female form, as natural deities found in the elements of earth, wind, fire and water. Capturing light, landscape and emotion. This particular collection in NUDE Anniversary Year 5 has a vintage, influential, and innovative story to the pictures. As usual he delivers stunning, provocative stories with each image.

NUDE is celebrating 5 years since we started as an online magazine. This beautifully highlighted luxury edition celebrates everything that we love and support about the fine art of nude photography.
So much has changed since that day five years ago, but as we have grown, we have always remained focussed on producing a beautiful publication that creatively inspires our readers and supports the photographic artists community that we are so passionate about.
This issue is incredibly special to the NUDE team, featuring not only people and spaces that have inspired us personally over the years, but some who we’ve just recently discovered. Celebration, longevity and reflection are at its core as we mark five years in independent publishing, celebrating not only the magazine’s journey, but the creative community that inspires it. As we reflect back on what has been an amazing five years of doing what we truly love, we hope it inspires our readers to believe in their own dreams and creative goals. As always, we hope you enjoy the art.
