WELCOME TO ISSUE No. 61

Every issue we obsess over the front cover. It is the most coveted page in the magazine, the face that stops the scroll and earns its place on the shelf. This Special issue turns the light to the other end. The back cover has a quieter duty, and an important one. It closes the issue with a statement, the last image you carry with you, the extra and valuable touch that says the work was finished with intention. For Nº61 we have gathered the finest back covers from across our first sixty issues and given them
the stage they always deserved.
Around that idea we built a full new collection. Nine photographers open the issue with fresh pictorials, familiar names who helped shape the NUDE language, among them Erik Fischer, Gabriel Dusil, Michael Gron and Igor Vorobey, beside new faces making their debut, including Aleksandr Levin, Vitaly Levin and Ruben Bellanger. Counting the artists behind our chosen back covers, more than thirty photographers appear in these pages, and with them well over forty international fine art models, from returning muses to faces you are meeting for the first time.
The result is a portrait of who we are after sixty issues. New work at the front, a retrospective of statements at the back, and the same belief on every page, that the nude is the oldest subject in art and still the most alive. Turn to the final page slowly. In this issue the closing image matters as much as the opening one.
