Storytelling is powerful, and words often convey emotions….
but what if you don’t have the words? What language would you use? Photo’s that generate a emotion through the use of a visual are often even more powerful, as they invoke the viewer’s mind to create the story. Vassillis Pitoulis’ photography uses the language of light, which is rich and intricate, to tell us a story.
Here at NUDE we have the pleasure of having Vassilis Pitoulis--a Greek/Italian Photographer based in Athens—back as a feature photographer for this NATURE issue. Vassilis holds a special place at NUDE as his work mentors us all. He was one of the initial contributors, and his beautiful works of photographic art have graced several issues of our magazine over the years.
Working predominantly with a black and white canvass, I find that Vassilis' pictorials are reminiscent of some of the most classical artistic masters—such as Titian, Van Gogh and Modigliani. Expressing his own perceived beauty in the female form, as natural deities found in the elements of earth, wind, fire and water. Capturing light, landscape and emotion. This particular collection in NATURE has a vintage, influential, and innovative story to the pictures. As usual he delivers stunning, provocative stories with each image.
