One of the perks of summer is that it has traditionallty been the start of film studios releasing their big budget films and running them all the way into the holiday seasons. This warm
time of the year and “big films”, became so inter-connected that the phrase was coined:
“the summer blockbuster” to describe features scheduled for June through August.

However, recently we have
seen a change in the release timing for huge films
that were originally slated
to fall in the summer release
category. Take Avengers 2:
Age Of Ultron for example,
it was moved up to a May
release date as were some
other summer slated films.
One would think we might
run out of summer movie
extravaganzas until you realize that launching some
early just opens the field to
put other films in those now
vacated slots and make even
more money on successful
releases. So having shared
